MOUNT CLEMENS, MI – A 30-year-old ex-Detroit cop is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly firing a high-powered rifle at Macomb County police officers who responded to a domestic dispute, wounding one officer in the head, earlier this month. According to the county prosecutor’s office, Waldrep is accused of attempting to confront his wife while armed Jan. 23, spurring multiple calls about the disturbance. According to the prosecutor’s office, the Roseville officer struck in the head sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and Waldrep additionally struck a patrol car. The Macomb County prosecutor also cited Waldrep as a habitual offender, and his bond was set at $2 million. He is set to return to court on Feb. 11 and 18 for a probable cause conference and preliminary exam in Macomb County District Court.
