Despite the government's promises of austerity measures because of financial constraints, new reports indicate that Deputy President (DP) Kithure Kindiki will spend KSh 338.8 million on air travel in the financial year (FY) ending in June 2026. According to the procurement plans of the DP's office, the second in command was allocated KSh 150.2 million for helicopter travel, KSh 144 million for commercial aircraft, and KSh 44.6 million for chartered craft between July 2025 and June 2026.
