Two suspects were arrested on Jan. 15 after allegedly squatting in self-storage units and impersonating employees at a 10 Federal Storage facility in Macon, Georgia. The suspect identified herself to officers as Michelle Freeman, claiming to be the site’s general manager. Michelle Freeman showed officers an email sent to a “Michael Freeman” as proof of employment. Its self-storage portfolio of more than 130 owned and managed properties comprises more than 4 million net rentable square feet in 17 states.
