Anglian Water has increased its bills by seven per cent, which is up by around £44 a year, for 2026/27. The national average for the household water bills rise is 5.4 per cent, making Anglian Water one of the companies upping their bills above average. The rise comes as companies across the UK prepare to invest £20 billion over 2026/27 to secure water supplies and end sewage entering rivers and seas, Water UK said. A spokesperson for Anglian Water said spreading the rise in bills across several years keeps them "affordable, and ensures fairness so future customers who benefit also contribute". Don Maher, director of customer and operational services for Anglian Water, said: "We do everything we can to keep our bills affordable, and water bills are still one of the cheapest household bills.
