Destin Daniel Cretton, director of the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, confirmed a major "tonal shift" for the franchise during a recent press junket for his Disney+ series Wonder Man. Tom Holland (Peter Parker), Zendaya (MJ), and Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds) are all confirmed to return. Production and ReleaseFilming for Brand New Day took place across major locations, including Glasgow, Scotland, which stood in for the streets of Manhattan. The production faced a brief one-week pause in September 2025 following a minor on-set injury to Holland, but Cretton confirmed the project is now in active post-production. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to swing into theatres on July 31, 2026.
