Steve Hindle, a mushroom expert, identified 45 species of fungi at the site, of which 11 are classed as vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The list includes 25 species of waxcap mushrooms, surpassing the threshold for a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) designation. Helen Neave, co-founder of Make it Wild, said: "We are absolutely delighted that our management of these grasslands has had such an amazing impact.
