The Rivington Chase development is currently being built, bringing well over 1,000 new homes to Horwich. The development, which has been decades in the making, is located on the former site of the Horwich Loco Works off Chorley New Road. But Stuart Whittle, chairman of Horwich Heritage, is concerned that the developments are too high density and don't have enough open space.
