Mark Anderson was arrested Jan. 28 at the New York federal jail housing the accused murderer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, after presenting himself as an FBI agent, according to a criminal complaint reviewed by Oxygen.com. While the complaint doesn’t name who Anderson was attempting to free, a law enforcement source confirmed to CNBC that it was Mangione. Mangione has pleaded not guilty to federal and state charges alleging he had stalked Thompson and fatally shot the CEO in midtown Manhattan on Dec. 4, 2024.
