Dame Caroline Dinenage, MP for Gosport, has urged former service personnel to find out if they are entitled to a deferred Armed Forces Pension, especially those who left the military before qualifying for an immediate pension. "I would also love to hear from you if you are someone who has recently discovered that you are eligible for an Armed Forces Pension." According to the Ministry of Defence, more than 15,000 pension benefits remain unclaimed. Dame Caroline has backed a campaign by the Forces Pension Society, which offers a flowchart on its website to help veterans check their eligibility.
