East Suffolk Council's planning committee south agreed to allow the lighting at the park at Orwell Green in Grange Farm Avenue in Felixstowe to stay on until 10pm from Fridays to Sundays and until 9pm from Mondays to Thursdays.
The existing conditions allow the lighting to be used until 8.30pm, but the extension was sought for safety reasons.
The skatepark was originally granted planning permission in 2006 and has been in situ for a long period of time within an open space to the north of Morrisons supermarket and the Owl and Pussycat pub.

However, he said: "I am happy to support it, but only on condition that the shrouding is in place."
