The Lancashire M6 Partnership, set up by Ribble Valley MP Maya Ellis, aims to reduce pressure on the road network and improve the response to major incidents that lead to full or partial motorway closures. The group brings together the highways department at Lancashire County Council, National Highways, Lancashire Constabulary, the North West Ambulance Service, Lancashire Fire and Rescue, and other local MPs. Ms Ellis said: "My inbox regularly contains concerns from constituents about issues when the M6 is unavailable, which then pushes traffic onto country lanes that are already seeing increased traffic because of housebuilding. "I wanted to assemble the Lancashire M6 Partnership to bring together these organisations to see how we can better work together, stay informed of any issues and whether there is anything that we, as MPs, need to take back to Westminster to raise at a higher level."
