Last year’s Mayor of Burnley, Cllr Shah Hussain, has tabled a motion for debate to the full meeting of Burnley Council on the issue. The Daneshouse and Stoneyholme Independent wants to see the launch of a borough-wide “Burnley Clean and Proud” campaign. “Burnley Borough has experienced thousands of recorded incidents in recent years, with back alleyways, pavements and roads disproportionately affected. “By adopting this motion, Burnley Council will take bold and proactive steps to protect our environment, support local pride, and reinvest in frontline services that matter to our residents. “Fly-tipping is not simply a waste issue — it is a mark on our community that must be confronted with education, enforcement and collective civic responsibility.”
