Wells Crab House, on Freeman Street in Wells-next-the-Sea, was opened by Kelly and Scott Dougal in April 2016. It has received acclaim for its local and seasonal dishes and was named the Best Seafood Establishment in the Midlands at the Food Awards England for 2025. The restaurant opened a takeaway called 'Hook a Takeaway' last year and is now looking to extend its offering to customers. This is to host private parties, winemaker nights, and later peak times in the peak periods of the season. Anyone wishing to make a representation must do so in writing to the Licensing Authority no later than February 11, 2026.
