Fred Hoffman, the owner of Hoffman’s Appliance, has died at 83. Known as “The Small Money Dealer,” Fred passed away peacefully after a long illness on Jan. 22. He was the third generation to lead Hoffman’s Appliance, which has served the community for over 100 years. Hoffman’s opened as a candy shop and bookstore on Joseph Avenue, then grew into Hoffman’s Music Shop. A celebration of Fred Hoffman’s life will take place in May at the Oak Hill Country Club.
