MOORHEAD — Friday, Jan. 30, is the last day residents will be able to get a same-day driver’s license or ID card in Clay County. Clay County started the same-day pilot program in October 2022. County Administrator Stephen Larson said while people enjoyed the convenience of same-day IDs, the process had some issues. Staff was printing an average of 30 IDs per day, and same-day printing took too much time away from other duties, he said. Dakota County was also part of the pilot program.
