MOORHEAD — Representatives of the Moorhead school district and a union representing teachers have reached a preliminary deal on a two-year contract for the 2025-2027 academic years. Moorhead Area Public Schools and Education Moorhead came to a tentative agreement on Wednesday, Jan. 28, following 9.5 hours of mediation, the two parties announced in a joint statement Thursday. Weeks later, at least 80 people filled the Moorhead School Board meeting room as a way of demonstrating the extent that teachers assisted in getting the levy questions passed. Teachers filled the School Board meeting room again this week, before the board heard results of a safety audit during a session closed to the public. The tentative contract agreement reached Wednesday is not final and is subject to ratification by members of Education Moorhead and approval by the Moorhead School Board, the joint statement read.
