Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Prohibition and Excise Department has reissued a notification for 301 open-category bar licences under the 2025–28 bar policy. The move follows the non-disposal of several licences in the earlier round of allotments conducted through the draw of lots system. Application process and timelineThe Director said the list of bars has been published in the respective District Gazettes, and the application process has commenced. Draw of lotsThe draw of lots for the re-notified licences will be conducted by the respective District Collectors at 8 am on February 5, 2026. Transparency emphasisedSridhar Chamakuri directed all district excise officials to strictly follow the prescribed procedures to ensure a transparent, fair, and efficient selection process under the new bar policy.
