Spread the loveKathmandu, Jan 30: The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed concerned bodies to strictly follow legal procedures while issuing character certificates, also known as police clearance certificates. The ministry said the directive comes in line with the Criminal National Records Management and Police Criminal Certificate Issuance Directive 2023, which is currently in force. The directive aims to strengthen the national security system and control organized crime as envisioned by the Constitution of Nepal. The Home Ministry warned that issuing character certificates in violation of the law can affect foreign study, travel, and employment prospects. In a public notice, the ministry asked that all work related to character certificates be carried out only by following existing legal provisions, rules, and procedures.
