Parents and carers can be given over £300 to help support their children who make the step into primary school.
Parents and carers have been urged to apply for over £300 of support for children who will soon be starting primary school.
Social Security Scotland provide the School Age Payment worth £319.80 to those with bairns due to make the leap into education.
“School Age Payment helps ease the financial pressures of starting school while playing an important role in our mission to tackle child poverty.”Part of the Best Start Grant package, which is unique to Scotland, School Age Payment is available for children born between 1st March 2020 and 28th February 2021.
Since the launch of Best Start Grant in 2018, Social Security Scotland has delivered over 300 School Age Payment claims in Shetland.
