Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli have announced that they are ending their marriage. On Thursday (January 29), a rep for the 38-year-old Emmy-winning actress and the 43-year-old TV writer/director confirmed that the pair will be “amicably filing for divorce on Friday” after nearly nine years of marriage. Samira and Lauren first met in December 2012 during production of Orange is the New Black, which Samira starred in and Lauren wrote for. At the time, Lauren was married to husband Steve Basilone, but they later divorced in 2014. After announcing their engagement in 2016, Samira and Lauren married in March 2017.
