In a major anti-corruption operation, the Karnataka Lokayukta Police caught a police inspector red-handed while taking a bribe in Bengaluru on Wednesday. He was trapped by Lokayukta officials at the Chamarajpet CAR Grounds around 4.30 pm while accepting money from a complainant. According to the complaint, Akbar had already paid ₹1 lakh to the inspector on January 24, 2026, near Sirsi Circle. As soon as the inspector accepted the money, the officials caught him on the spot. Lokayukta officials said they will continue to take strict action against government employees involved in corruption.
