Mr Marshall went on to complete cardiac rehab and described the support he received as "fantastic". In 2023, he spent six months sailing around the British Isles, raising more than £13,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and RNLI. To recognise his journey, a red bench has been unveiled near St Gregory’s Church in Norwich as part of the BHF’s campaign marking 65 years of lifesaving work. Councillor Kidman, cabinet member for communities at Norwich City Council, said: "This bench is a brilliant addition to our vibrant city centre. The BHF campaign includes 65 red benches across the UK, in tribute to those living with cardiovascular disease.
