FARGO — The University of Denver did not go down to defeat Thursday night without trying to control North Dakota State’s scoring and rebounding leader Avery Koenen. The Bison dialed long distance with precision at Scheels Center at Sanford Health Athletic Complex and went on to take a 95-55 women’s basketball victory, their 17th straight win. As for the second half, the Bison appear to be getting more comfortable with Hobson, a 6-foot sophomore from Parkdale, Australia. Denver didn’t go down in the first half without trying a variety of defensive schemes, most notably a zone that collapsed on Koenen.
