Katsina State Police Command has arrested two suspected gunrunners and recovered six AK-47 magazines and 305 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition. He said the suspects were intercepted while riding a motorcycle, adding that a search conducted on them led to the recovery of the ammunition concealed in their possession. “Upon an immediate search, six AK-47 magazines and 305 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition, neatly concealed, were recovered from their possession,” Sadiq stated. He explained that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly collected the arms and ammunition from Jos, Plateau State, and were transporting them to a suspected armed bandit kingpin. Sadiq said the suspects and the recovered exhibits were currently in police custody, while investigations had commenced to unravel the network behind the arms trafficking.
