The power utility said the outage will specifically affect customers in Protea South and forms part of ongoing efforts to maintain and stabilise electricity infrastructure in Gauteng.
Eskom confirmed that the interruption will take place on Tuesday, 3 February, from 9:00 to 23:00, resulting in a 14-hour power outage.
Eskom added that the shutdown will enable teams to service distribution power lines and related equipment without risking damage or injury.
“In the interest of safety, customers are advised to treat all electrical appliances as live at all times during the power supply outage,” Eskom said.
The utility said, “Eskom would like to thank you for your cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused by this maintenance.”ADVERTISEMENTThe power utility encouraged residents to plan ahead, store backup power where possible, and remain cautious throughout the power outage period.
