A person has been shot after a stolen car they were inside was allegedly driven at police officers in Geelong who responded by firing at them. Police air surveillance spotted a stolen Kia Optima in Newtown near the intersection of Princes Highway and Roebuck Street at about 3.40pm. Following this, it is alleged the Kia drove at officers who then discharged their firearm before the car collided with a second vehicle. The second occupant of the car was a 37-year-old woman who was also transported to hospital under police guard with minor injuries. “It is alleged the vehicle was stolen in New South Wales.”Anyone with information is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
