A Gender-Based Violence Court in Accra has sentenced a trader to 12 months’ imprisonment for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl at Abossey Okai. The convict, Kweku Fosu, 55, pleaded guilty to the charge of indecent assault and was accordingly convicted and sentenced by the court, presided over by Mr Kwabena Kodua Obiri-Yeboah. Prosecuting, Superintendent of Police Agnes Boafo told the court that the complainant was a cleaner and the victim's father, while the convict was a trader, both residing in Abossey Okai. In November 2025, the victim complained of vagina itching, and she was offered some first aid. Prosecution said the victim, after the first aid, still continued to complain, compelling the mother to inspect her private part.
