A Basic 5 pupil of Falahiyat E/A Primary School Block “A” is receiving medical care at Damongo St Anne’s Catholic Hospital in the Savannah Region after reportedly being assaulted by his class teacher.
The child’s father, Abdul Wahidu Mahama, said the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 20, following the marking of a homework exercise.
According to him, the pupil scored 2 out of 8 and was among a group of students allegedly punished for their poor performance.
Mr Mahama further alleged that since the incident, the teacher involved has not visited the child at the hospital.
He added that the teacher only visited the family’s home on Sunday, January 25, in the evening, after the child’s mother made contact.
