Anthony Albanese and Chris Minns have cautioned those planning to protest the Israeli President’s visit early next month, calling on demonstrators to “recognise the solemn nature of the engagement” and follow rules. Isaac Herzog is scheduled to visit Australia from February 8-12 primarily to pay respects to the 15 innocents killed in the Bondi terror attack. Mr Albanese said on Friday people “have a right to express their views” but stressed Mr Herzog was visiting to grieve with the Jewish community. “I welcome the fact that President Herzog is coming here,” he told reporters in Sydney.
