Jennifer Wheeler, executive director of the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, expected that bidding on the magazine cover would open Thursday night and go through Feb. 5. A link to the auction form will be posted at SteamboatSymphony.org for the magazine featuring the Leibovitz image. A framed Steamboat Magazine cover, featuring Annie Leibovitz’s photo of Billy Kidd, will be auctioned off to benefit the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra. He won the silver medal at the 1964 Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria, where he and teammate Jimmie Heuga became the first American men to win Olympic medals. Kidd won the gold medal in the combined at the 1970 World Championships in Val Gardena, Italy.
