Staff dig in to clear Homewood Field for men's lax opener

Baltimoreans spent the past week swapping snow-shoveling stories, but the hardworking crew at Johns Hopkins University Athletics has everyone beat: The team cleared nearly a foot of snow across 60,000 square feet of turf on Homewood Field ahead the men's lacrosse team's season-opener against Robert Morris.
The game, originally scheduled for Saturday, was rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 2, at noon.

The entire operation started early on Sunday, Jan. 25, said Ernie Larossa, associate director of athletics and director of athletic communications.
All the while, fellow team members took to the stands with shovels to clear the seats for spectators.
