• THERESA MAE DULMANThe Land Transportation Office – Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) has issued a show-cause order to the operator of a modernized jeepney following an incident involving passenger overloading in Bacolod City. He added that the Bacolod Traffic and Transport Management Department will also impose their own penalties. The show-cause order also addressed the discourteous conduct of the conductor during a recorded exchange with a passenger. Should the operator fail to respond to the show-cause order within the designated five-day period, the LTO-NIR will proceed with administrative penalties. The sanctions may include fines, the suspension of the vehicle’s registration, or a recommendation for the revocation of the franchise.
