Calm restored in Juba County’s Mirikiyo Boma after cattle camp clashes

Security stability has returned to Rokon Payam’s Mirikiyo Boma in Juba County following violent clashes that erupted between cattle herders in the area.
Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday evening, the commissioner said the clashes resulted in the displacement of approximately 2,031 people.
“This incident has displaced 2,031 people from Mirikiyo Boma of Rokon,” he said.
The commissioner said security forces have since been deployed to the area, and calm has been restored as investigations into the incident continue.
“I want to assure the people of Mirikiyo, Rokon, and Central Equatoria as a whole that calm has returned to the area,” Tete reassured.
