In Cars, Local News, Public Transport / by Jonathan James Tan / January 30 2026 10:09 amThere have been e-hailing vehicle owners facing difficulties renewing road tax if their vehicle permits (eVP) were expiring in under six months, because only six- and 12-month road tax renewals were allowed.
Beginning today, e-hailing vehicle owners can renew their road taxes for shorter periods of between one and five months, Bernama reports.
“This means that all e-hailing service vehicles that are legally registered will be allowed to renew their road taxes for a period shorter than six or 12 months.
This facility only applies as long as the vehicle remains legally registered as an e-hailing vehicle,” said the statement.
