COLCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) – Older and disabled Colchester residents no longer need to worry about getting a ride to work. Green Mountain Transit and the town of Colchester have found a way to get them there for free. Earlier this month, Vermont’s Transportation Agency and Green Mountain Transit announced cuts to the program, including rides to work. On Thursday, Colchester announced it would increase its match funding of the program by 14% so that older and disabled Colchester residents could keep their jobs. If you’re concerned about cuts made to your transportation, reach out to the Special Services Transportation Agency.
