In addition to their faculty roles in the College of Liberal Arts, both Barbier and Burgess are affiliated with CSU’s internationally renowned School of Global Environmental Sustainability.
Professor Burgess is an environmental and natural resource economist with special interests in forest land use, wildlife management, trade and environment, and sustainability.
Professor Barbier is a globally renowned environmental economist and a highly cited scholar on economy, nature and sustainability.
When Barbier directed the International Institute for Environment and Development’s London Environmental Economics Centre, IIED was awarded the Blue Planet Prize.
Barbier was named an Aldo Leopold Leadership Fellow in 2005 and a Fellow of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists in 2015.
