Michael KeeganThe Record – LJIhe Memphrémagog Food Bank (BAM) inaugurated its 35th Anniversary celebrations by presenting its newly renovated and expanded social grocery store to the public. The project has taken a year to complete and doubles the food bank’s capacity to serve citizens in need. Unfortunately, that need has continued to grow at an alarming pace, increasing by about 20 per cent in each of the last three years. Reached by phone, Chair of the Board of Directors of BAM, Marek Wakulczyk, told The Record, “We continually try to expand the municipalities that we serve. Importantly, the refreshed, larger space also allows the food bank to serve those in need with a more human touch.
