Coco, a 2-year-old yellow lab, is the newest facility dog at Voices of Courage Child Advocacy Center in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Named after tennis player Coco Gauff, Coco’s role is to comfort children during therapy sessions and forensic interviews.
Trained at the CHAMP Assistance Dog Facility in St. Louis, Coco has been a valuable asset to the center, providing comfort and support to those in need.
Carrie Watkins, Coco’s handler, describes her as a “comfort care companion” who sets a mellow and comforting tone for the children she interacts with.
