Netflix’s Founder Is Opening Utah’s Most Exclusive Private Ski Resort
['Nick Kenyon']
Boss Hunting
Reed Hastings, Netflix’s co-founder and co-CEO for 25 years, is set to open a private ski resort in Utah called Powder Haven.
Spanning 12,000 acres, Hastings has already sold 39 units on the property and has recently offered an additional 34 sites for sale.
In addition to becoming Netflix’s Executive Chairman, he bought 12,000 acres in Utah’s Wasatch Range and decided to open Powder Haven, which he plans to turn into one of America’s most exclusive ski resorts.
All properties have the option of a bespoke design, with Hastings’ team working with CLB, Lloyd Architects, and Walker Warner on the design and construction.
Powder Haven will cap membership at 650 families, maintain 2,700 acres of private terrain for owners, and leave 5,300 acres open to the public (carefully managed to dodge lift-line chaos).
