The Green Party says that A&E corridor care will worsen if Reform UK-led Kent County Council (KCC) fails to give inflationary increases to providers. The Greens have also called into question whether the council has had meaningful discussions with the NHS. ‌KCC is proposing no increase in older people's residential care and a two per cent uplift in domiciliary services and residential care support for those with learning and physical disabilities or those with mental health conditions when inflation is sitting at 3.4 per cent. Kent's care providers argue that they will have to contend with higher running costs and the hike in national insurance contributions and the national living wage.
