Silverchain has called for careful attention to the transition timeline from CHSP to SaH.
It has warned that the SaH program and the home care sector need an extended period of stabilisation before any transition can occur.
It has also warned that reluctance by some older people receiving CHSP to transition to their relevant SaH classification due to co-payments is leading to ongoing use of CHSP by people with higher level care needs.
