The median wait time for an aged care assessment in 2022-23 was 17 days, according to the 2025 RoGS.

Seniors advocacy organisation Council on the Ageing Australia has called for action to address home care wait times almost doubling since 2023-24.
To ensure aged care reforms translate into quality care, the federal government must urgently increase the supply of home care places, said COTA Australia chief executive Patricia Sparrow.
