Bessey Greenhouse, including the Richard W. Pohl Conservatory, is tended to by Greenhouse Manager Kenny McCabe.
It’s an everyday deal; plants don’t care about holidays or vacations or anything like that.”From carnivorous plants to papayas, Bessey Greenhouse features a plethora of plants you won’t find natively in Iowa.
“It is fun, though; we’ve got bananas, chocolate trees and occasionally you’ll see some pineapples.”The plants in the greenhouse serve several different purposes on campus.
