Russell Professor at Columbia University, lectured on how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s community shaped the Civil Rights Movement at 6 p.m. Thursday. “When Martin Luther King Jr. goes off to college, he is a very sheltered young man,” Love said. It’s him listening to a Black queer man,” Love said. “From his speech, you will get the Civil Rights Act,” Love said. You have to take the tactics and wisdom, like from Dr. King, to create justice.”
