Colchester City Council is proposing the major upgrade of the parks and play areas across the city, which also includes activities for disabled people. ‌Ley Field Park in Marks Tey is set for a major revamp with zip lines, trampolines, monkey bars, climbing walls, roundabouts, springy animals, obstacle courses, and sensory play items. ‌Meanwhile, High Woods Country Park in Colchester could see "inclusive" equipment such as wheelchair swings, accessible ramps, and sensory play features, installed as part of the plans. It comes as the council is planning a huge £600,000 update with three new themed play areas at Castle Park, Colchester.
