The state of Michigan’s future depends on our ability to compete in advanced research and engineering. This is a federally supported research facility designed to advance work in medicine, climate science and national security. From the outset, University leadership has kept the Michigan Economic Development Corporation informed throughout the site evaluation and due diligence process. Ypsilanti Township officials were notified before that vote. While no site has been selected, the two Ypsilanti Township sites under consideration fall within areas designed for light industrial use under local township zoning.
