The Luxembourg public prosecutor’s office is currently investigating two cases in which AI software was used to generate child sexual abuse material, the judiciary has told Luxembourg Times. However, answering a request from the Luxembourg Times, BeeSecure Stopline confirmed that it has received reports of AI-generated content related to child sexual abuse material. More than 191,000 cases of suspected child sexual abuse material hosted in Luxembourg were reported in the first three quarters of 2025. Germany and France, ranking seventh and eighth, accounted for close to 80,000 and just over 50,000 suspected cases in 2025 respectively, while just 116 suspected cases were reported in Luxembourg’s other neighbour, Belgium. ‘Growing sophistication’ in AI-generated materialIn its annual report for 2024, the organisation said that its analysts had observed “a growing sophistication” in artificial intelligence generated child sexual abuse material.
