Sheffield Lake City Council has unanimously approved placing a levy for the Lorain Public Library System’s Domonkas Branch on the May Primary Election ballot. “The operating levy that will be on the ballot in May for the Domonkas Branch Library in Sheffield Lake provides nearly 100 percent of the funds to operate the branch,” said library Chief Executive Officer and Director Anastasia Diamond-Ortiz. So that was great information to have,” said DeBottis, who noted that his children have used the library system many times in the 40 years he’s lived in Sheffield Lake. During the pandemic, Sheffield Lake students along with others statewide were schooled from home via Zoom meetings. If the movies weren’t available at the Sheffield Lake branch, they were shipped from another branch and arrived the next day, Gee said.
