The second phase of multi-million-pound conservation works on Dundee’s famous RRS Discovery has begun.
The second phase of works is expected to cost more than £2 million and take around two years.
Restoring the vessel are maritime consulting engineers Beckett Rankine and specialist heritage engineers JPS Restoration & Consultancy Ltd.
The second phase is being funded by the Dundee Heritage Trust (DHT), Tay Cities Region Deal, DC Thomson’s Northwood Charitable Trust, the National Trust Heritage Fund and others.
The second phase will involve major repairs to the Dundee-built boat’s bulwark and stanchions.
