Now, comes word from the Alabama attorney general's office that states:Attorney General Steve Marshall announced that Alabama has joined a coalition of 26 States and territories filing an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court supporting President Trump’s Executive Order No.
14,160, Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship, which prohibits “birthright” citizenship.
The States explain that the Fourteenth Amendment did not grant automatic citizenship to children of illegal aliens, who are not “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States.
By providing an incentive for illegal immigration, so-called birthright citizenship weakens enforcement of our immigration laws.
